This was wonderful fun! Early in the day while the kidlets were out with their daddy I separated white rice into 5 baggies into which I added a teaspoon of vinegar and a few drops of food colouring. The vinegar helps keep the food colouring from rubbing off. I spread them out in pans to dry and started collecting play things around the house. They were dry in about 15 minutes but we waited about an hour to play. I poured the rice into our trusty rubbermaid container in a rainbow pattern. I love rainbows:) I spread a table cloth on the porch, organized the tools and called the kids in to view the offer. They went right to it. My boy seemed to prefer pouring it in the sand/ water toy, where my girl loved the way it felt when she poured it on her feet. They mixed and poured, sat and discovered for an hour. When they were done we poured all the rice into containers to save for another day. Great fun!
