Halloween lanterns

Published October 14, 2012 by thespottedowl1

Tonight the kids and I sat down and did a quick Halloween craft before bedtime. 3 empty jars with labels off, 2 pieces of orange tissue paper, 2 pieces of black construction paper, white glue and a tea candle is all we needed. I found the easiest way to get the labels off the jars was running them under hot water and scraping. Suns lantern was done by wrapping the tissue around and cutting off excess. He cut all the shapes himself and did all the glueing. Stars jar is ripped tissue paper glued randomly by her and I. I cut out the jack O lantern face shapes and she helped glue and place them. The third jar is a piece of black construction paper with a face cut out and tissue paper glued behind it. We then wrapped it around the jar, cut it to fit and glued it down. I dropped wax in the bottom of each jar and dropped the tea candles on top. The wax holds the candle in place. Lights off and star yells “spooooky hawwoween”. Another successful and easy craft accomplished.
