Halloween Sensory Bath

Bathtime is a great time for messy play that gets you clean. In the bath you can get creative and its in a nice small controlled environment. Bathtime has certainly evolved for us starting with just a couple of boats and ducks when my son was a baby. Soon came crayons, bubble bath and coloured bath tablets. For his fourth birthday as I was researching ideas for his pirate party I came across a suggestion to put glow sticks in the water. Glow sticks! Totally fun and he could take them to bed afterwards. Now my daughter is here and I have found and tried some other fun ideas. This one is a Halloween themed bath which I used items from our Halloween sensory bin, https://thespottedowl1.wordpress.com/2012/10/26/halloween-rice-sensory-bins/, shaving cream with red food colouring and paint brushes, cooked and dyed red spaghetti noodles, pumpkin spice and some window stickers. We also used some of the foam craft shapes, a balloon and the silicon pumpkin muffin holders. All of these things were bought at some time from the dollar store or Wal-Mart. To set the scene I lit the lanterns we made, https://thespottedowl1.wordpress.com/2012/10/14/halloween-lanterns/, but I moved them once the kids got in. Adding pumpkin spice was a nice touch to the water but once they started playing with the shaving cream it didn’t matter. I really wanted to use different colours like purple and orange for the shaving cream and noodles and water but I was out of food colouring. Glow sticks would have really added to this too, but hey sometimes you just don’t have everything one hand 😉 This site has some really fantastic bath ideas http://www.growingajeweledrose.com/

Here ya go!

Please excuse the brown caulking, i’ve done the best I can, dont judge.

Wishing you a happy and safe Halloween weekend!
